Faces of Minnesota – Chris Egert

Chris Egert is an anchor and reporter for KSTP-TV news in the Twin Cities. He’s been in the news business for awhile, with stints in Nebraska, Florida and Washington state.

 

Many people look for a new opportunity as a way to “step up” and grow. Move to a bigger city or market to get more recognition, more experience and exposure.  Chris has Midwest roots, and they’ve never left him.  In this 3-part interview with Chris, you’ll find out the real and touching reason for him to pursue an opportunity to work in a newsroom in the Twin Cities.  He’ll share what his experience has been like in covering the news in different parts of the country and then share some of the things that he enjoys doing since he and his family have moved to Minnesota.  Get to know a new face of television news in Minnesota, Chris Egert.

 

In part 1 of an interview with Chris Egert of KSTP-TV, he shares where he grew up and what cities he’s covered the news in. He then shares the heartfelt reason for his family’s decision of moving to Minnesota.

In part 2 of the Chris Egert interview, he talks about how news is covered differently in comparing each of the news markets that he’s worked in; South Dakota, Omaha NE, Orlando FL and Seattle WA. He then talks about the responsibility of news people when covering Breaking News.

In part 3 of the Chris Egert interview, he shares what he likes to do outdoors with his family. Talks about some places that he like to eat at in the Twin CIties, and what he hopes his wife lets him purchase at some point.


Faces of Minnesota – Jen Sinkler

Jen Sinkler is a very successful fitness and athletic minded and active person  She’s the Editorial Director of Fitness Content for Experience Life magazine. Owned and operated by the Lifetime Fitness chain. She has played rugby at many levels, and even after ending her participation, she still keeps up on how to stay fit through exercise and eating right.

 

When she’s not working out, pumping iron, running and staying in shape, what kinds of things does Jen like to do with her time?  Even though she is very health conscious, does she have any weaknesses when it comes to food?  With the craze of Apps, does she have any that she uses to help herself with keeping track, monitor or improving her activities?

Faces of Minnesota – Christina Sandok

Christina Sandok is a specialist in authentic design. Her company, Style Architects, helps companies achieve better branding and presentation of themselves to the public.

 

She presents a very professional and tailored image, and she aims to share her skills, and those of her team,  with her clients so that they are always putting their best foot forward. He company covers a variety of areas, from personal assistance to assisting entire companies.

 

Her skills have caught the eyes of many, and so she also has had the opportunity to work with magazines for photo shoots and is also used as a source for sharing her ideas with their readers. How though did she get to be so successful and become so recognized for her skills and abilities?

 

In part 1 of the Christina Sandok interview, Christina talks about how her early years helped her develop her interest and passion for authentic design. She then finishes in talking about what led her to start Style Architects and what it’s focus is.

Faces of Minnesota – Jamie Yuccas

Jamie Yuccas started working for WCCO-tv in the summer of of 2011, and promptly starting working on the Saturday Morning show, along with co-host Matt Brinkman. Jamie grew up in Minnesota and no doubt jumped at the chance to cover the news in her home state.

In this 3-part interview with her, you’ll learn about her working career and what some of her interests and talents are, as well as some of her likes and dislikes.  Find out if all of the teasing that Matt Brickman does about her cooking is real or not.  What does she like doing with her time off, and who does she enjoy spending time with?

Rena Sarigianopoulos is a weekend anchor and a reporter for KARE 11 in the Minneapolis/St. Paul television market. She has been there for over 6 years and has become a fixture on their network. When she’s not in front of a camera, what kinds of things does she get involved with? What are some of her favorite sports, and if she could play one of them professionally, what position does she think she could play at? Finally, a few years ago, Rena had a run in with a professional golfer that you might have heard of, Tiger Woods.  What happened that triggered him to respond the way he did to her? Faces of Minnesota – Matt Brickman

Matt Brickman works for WCCO-TV as a reporter and handles the weather reporting for the station, primarily on the weekends. On Saturdays, he is the co-host of the WCCO Saturday Morning show, where he handles an informative and often entertaining segment called  “Best of MN”. As a newbie to Minnesota, he gets feedback from viewers on a variety of places to go that offer the “Best of…” something, and then gives a report on his findings. Where though did he come from? What does he like to do outside of the newsroom? In Part 1 of his 3-part interview, Matt shares the early years of his career doing television. He then talks about his start with WCCO-TV and then shares some of his favorite “Best of MN” segments.

In part 2 of Matt’s interview, he talks about his experience in connecting with others on television, Jamie Yuccas’ cooking skills and adapting to Minnesota people and places. He ends with talking about his running routine.

In part 3 of Matt’s interview, he talks about what it’s like to forecast the weather in Minnesota and the challenges that he’s faced in doing so. He then talks about some of the challenges in doing live television, especially for the WCCO Saturday Morning show.

Carly Aplin is a host and producer for The CW Twin Cities. She got her start doing the news, but has branched out to interviewing celebrities and style news. She has lots of energy and enjoys working in front of the camera. Where did she come from and what are some of her passions in life. Learn more about Carly by watching her 2-part interview. In part 1 of her interview with Joel Carlson, Carly Aplin shares where she grew up, her education and some of her earlier jobs before working at The CW Twin Cities.
