Okay good. So explain then what kinds of things are offered.  Are they from you or partnered companies?

Masters in Holistic Health from St. Kates, her passion was to increase exposure to the best of the best. The event…

tripled in size and has evolved into a consistent online community – that’s when I became involved- to help be a voice

I love the immediacy of social media. I also really enjoy being able to connect our members to their target markets.

What would you say are the TOP 5 services/products that you feature to your community?

Katie:    It’s difficult to give a top 5 – since we have almost 80 FABULOUS members…but, we are a feature in itself…

We offer a vetted community to the general public. People can be hesitant to try new healing modalities. That’s why..

Restore features quality products and services right in the Twin Cities’ backyard. Online research is the 1st step…

for most people when it comes to healthcare. Our space provides experiential opportunities and education through…

our quality weekly deals, blogs/vlogs, resources http://bit.ly/SH3qWS , and offline events. http://restorehealing.com

To someone new to your community that wants to start slowly, how do you recommend they begin?

Jamie Yuccas: A WCCO-tv reporter and anchor

Posted by on Tuesday, 9 October, 2012

Imagine interning for a company that you grew up admiring, and then years later, after working for other companies that do similar work, being able to come back where you interned and getting a role there that you enjoy doing. That’s what happened to Jamie Yuccas. Find out the path of this energetic journalist, and learn what she enjoys doing when she’s not either in front of a camera reporting in the field or sitting behind an anchor’s desk.

Welcome to a Twitterview (Twitter+interview) with @wcco TV reporter/anchor, @JamieYuccas. Lets see how she is today!

Jamie:    Doing well! We’re all in good moods over the new set!

That’s right! @WCCO does have a new set. Have you been able to “practice” getting used to it yet?

Jamie:    We’ve been doing rehearsals.

Great! Congrats on your 1yr Anniv of the #wccoSATam show. How has the first year gone for you?

Jamie:    I honestly can’t believe it’s been a year! It’s flying by! I guess that’s what the saying is for… We’re all having fun!

You and @Mattt_Brickman seem to have lots of fun. In 1-5 Tweets, what have been some of your favorite segments?

Jamie:    I think every Best of MN by @matt_brickman are fantastic.

it’s hard to pick a favorite. I also think @DeRushaEats does a great job showing off all MN has to offer with food!

I loved hanging with the @mnrollergirls

I just love meeting new people and trying new things. And Saturdays have allowed me to do that in all kinds of ways.

we’ve helped charities, laughed at ourselves and learned new things. How awesome is that?

my only hope is the audience is learning, having fun and laughing along with us!

oh! And Doga was pretty fun, too. My pup, Murphy, is still zen.  pic.twitter.com/NzfWK3ts

it’s true! I get people thanking me, because we help plan their weekend with new spots!

Dog haircut soon? To shift gears, can you share why you got interested in journalism, and where you first started?

Jamie:    Saturday! I always knew. I made up a newspaper, called “The Loon Lagoon.” I’d make my cousins write for it!

I also used to record little radio shows.

then in high school at MGSH, I took journalism with Ms. Caruso. Loved her! She helped me get to the U of M J-school.

I interned @wcco!

I then went to Rochester, MN for my first on air gig, then Fort Myers, FL. Now, I’m home @wcco!

Who were the anchors at @WCCO when you interned there, and how excited were you when you were hired in 2011 by @wcco?

Jamie:    I was very excited! Don Shelby and @WCCOAmelia were the main anchors.

You’ve done quite a few segments on fitness.  Do you do much of that outside of work? Do you run/jog?

Jamie:    I do! I run or do the elliptical almost every day. I’m going to run the TC 10 mile in two weeks.

I also love yoga, Pilates and walking the dogs. Just don’t get to do those more relaxing workouts enough

That’s sounds like a good balance. Your Twitter BIO says that you’re a foodie. Any restaurant recommendations?

Jamie:    My MOM’S. you’ll never get a better food/wine experience! My brother and I have been bugging her to open up something!

I think my brother and I were the only college kids to ever LOSE 15 pounds our freshman year

Kudos to your mom! :) To close, when can people see you next on TV next?

Jamie:    Tonight at 5. Photographer is driving, while I tweet. Headed to Danbury, WI for Reena Williams parent’s arraignment.

Joel:    Alright. Then on @wcco #SATam starting at 8am with @Matt_Brickman. Thanks for your time today Jamie. Have a good one!

Jamie:    You, too, Joel!

Stacie Clark of Tiger Athletics

Posted by on Tuesday, 14 February, 2012

Hello everyone! Welcome to today’s @MNMOmag Twitterview with Stacie Clark of @TigerAthletics. Lets get running!

Tell us a little bit about yourself Stacie. Where did you grow up and go to school?

Stacie:    I went to college at Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana. But I call Minnesota “home”:)

I see. So when did you decide that you wanted to get into the training/workout business?

Stacie:    I’ve always been athletically inclined…loved sports and anything that had to do with working out.

So after college, I became certified and started training on the side and doing group classes, races,

I ended up having such a passion for it and life itself, I mean it is a “lifestyle”..that I decided

to do this full-time with my husband Chris Clark…LOVE IT!

So Tiger was born in 2005

That’s great to be able to share your passion with your husband! Did it take some courage to start your own Co?

Stacie:    ABSOLUTELY! A lot of hard work and passion…it’s a journey, but one well worth being traveled.

What was your orginal business plan as to what services you’d offer to the public?

Stacie:    The 1st biz plan was to originally offer classes and training for youth athletes ages 6-15yrs.

We have since expanded to over 20 youth/adult weekly class offering; summer FIT camps;

Mexico FIT adventures, private coaching, team coaching/training and more! You can now find us all over

the Twin Cities metro:) We are mobile so it’s generally easy to find us at one of our locations.

What would you say drives your passion to help people get or stay fit? Is mental coaching involved in what you do?

Stacie:    What drives my passion is seeing the joy of everyone’s success and seeing them move thru space…

so that’s a wide client base…but such a niche. It involves passion on our end just as much as the

physical ability and mental coaching aspect to motivate the audience we have.

If someone is thinking about starting on an exercise regiment for the 1st time. What do you recommend to start with?

Stacie:    From there, most people generally lack a cardio base/foundation and core training….so it’s our job

to assess and write a program that is realistic for them to handle and achieve with success. I always

like giving my clients “homework” to do on their own too. When they don’t do it, I know it…:)

More about you. Your FAVORITE: Place to run, restaurant, store, athletic gear, hobby other than exercise.

Stacie:    FAV places to run r: Mexico on beach & French Park in Plymouth…miles of trails. So beach + trails.

FAV restaurant: Kobe sushi Plymouth;my husband’s laughing b/c he says I need to say “Texas Roadhouse!”

FAV store: LOVE shopping in NY..fav is Zara, H&M, Barneys Coop…in my past life I was the

Fashion Director for Marshall Fields-turned-Macys..so I love Fashion. For me,what I wear has to be

functional as well…it’s my everyday outfit. I shop at Lululemon;looking cute is part of the job too!

Can you explain what MEXICO Fit is about and what you’re launching today?

Stacie:    Mexico FIT is a group trip we organize 2xs/yr; Feb and Nov. The great thing @ the trip is it makes you

want to train in advance and excel while your there. We train 2-3 hrs/day. You get results in just

4-5 days…then the last day we do an Adventure FIT race. U go beyond what u think u can do. Today we

we are launching 20+ classes geared towards youth & adult hi-energy fun, but result-oriented.

Sure to make u sweat! Classes are $20 single or class packs of 5,10, 20 for discounted px’s. Would love

to see you all come out & give us a try. Find us: Planet Spirit,Hot MamaEdina, MiniHops, Balanced Barre

Sounds like training for women since they are at womens stores? Anything going on this summer?

Stacie:    It’s training for men & women..only Hot Mama is a female store. YES! Summer FIT camp. Kids ages 4-18 train w/Chris

and the adults (moms, dads, nannies, athletes) train with ME! Think hurdles, strength bags, pushups, dirt

hills, weights, sandbags and more! SO FUN! Most importantly the kids and adults train simultaneously

Joel:    Thanks for sharing today Stacie some of your work and passions on #MNMOtv! Have a great week and keep up the good work!

Stacie:    on the field. Summer Camp starts June 12th! Thank you and hope to see you!

Twitterview with Jen Emmert

Posted by on Thursday, 20 January, 2011

@JoelECarlson – Hello, and welcome to the “Late-Night” Twitterview with @priorfatgirl. Lets get cooking…in a healthy way! :)

Q – #1    So @priorfatgirl, where did you grow up? Where did you attend HS & what did you do after HS?

A: Grew up in MPLS. High school = Champlin Park. After HS I did the college thing and ATE!

Typical post-high school routine. Worked FT & college nights which led to a lot of eating out, little workout out

Q – #2    I see. Did you have certain foods that were a weakness, or just anything & everything?

A: I didn’t have much for cooking skills so it was either from a restaurant or out of a box (just add water)

Q – #3    So when did you get that “it’s time for a change” feeling inside yourself?

A: a few yrs back, I was invited to a weight loss surgery seminar. Although I didn’t do the surgery, I was a candidate.

That was hard. It was an eye opener. I never realized how big I was. I thought I hid it well.

I left the seminar and joined a gym. Weight loss surgery was an option but one I opted not to take.

Q – #4    So how did you start losing all of the weight that you did, and when did you start blogging about it?

A: I started working out at the gym, 5-6 days/wk. In beginning it was slow on treadmill. Eventually I found the elliptical

I didn’t lose as much weight as I anticipated right away so a friend suggested I keep a food journal. That helped A LOT

I started blogging months after journey started when I realized I needed an outlet. A place to vent w/ ppl who got IT

Blogging quickly became my therapy. A place to whine and cry about how unfair it was that I seemed to struggle so much

As well as a place to share exciting things (non-scale victories or weight loss goals) & have people cheer w/ me

Q – #5    So how much weight did you lose in total? How have you been able to help others with the same goal? Any events?

A: I’ve lost 90lbs total and have maintained for 1.5 years now. I’ve tried to help others fight through the emotional side

Losing weight isn’t just about eating the right foods and doing the 5 exercises to get a flat tummy.

Being healthy is about fighting through the emotional drama that prevents you from eating healthy foods & hitting gym

I’ve had a couple of get-togethers w/ speakers to share on topics I find of interest too. Dietitians and such.

Q – #6    Is it still an emotional battle, in addition to a portions battle, to keep the weight off?

A: it’s emotional battle to control portions, not in addition to.Every meal,it is conscious thought on portion, even still

Q – #7    Lets shift a bit. Your FAVORITES: Restaurant, store, winter activity, comfort food & recent book?

A: Favorites… Restaurant: Subway. Store: All cuz I can shop anywhere now! Winter activity? I’m an indoors kinda gal!

Other favorites? fluffy dogs, cashews & eggs (but not together).

Q – #8    Fluffy dogs?? Your story is great Jen! To end, what mantra or motivation can you share to help others win the fight!

A: Forever and ever: One breath at a time, one step at a time. One bite, one decision.

@JoelECarlson – Thanks @priorfatgirl for your inspiration, time and comments. Keep up the good work and good spirit!

@PriorFatGirl – Thanks for twitterviewing me & sharing my story!

Twitterview with Sarah Kay Hoffman

Posted by on Friday, 25 June, 2010

@JoelECarlson – Happy Friday to everyone, and welcome to a Twitterview of @SarahKayHoffman. Lets get the party started!

Q – #1   So @sarahkayhoffman – Where did you grow up? Where did you go to High School? What have you done from HS up to today?

A:   I attended the University of #MN #twincities. I’m a #Marketing #Advertising English major.

After college I held various #corporate positions. AE, Sales, Marketing & ultimately Marketing by way of Social Media.

And here I am today, #tweeting with you @starbucks

Q – #2   So what caused the momentum for you to leave MN and move to CA?

A:   We moved from #MN to #CA for my husband’s job. He works for #Viracon based out of Owatonna. Been here 3+ years.

Q – #3   Having been in CA for 3yrs, is there anything about MN you miss? Have you found CA different from the midwest?

A:   I miss something about the #midwest nearly daily. I miss the people. And family. And friends.

People are different here than they are in #mn. Life seems so much more simple back in #mn

But, to make a positive, the weather is gorgeous. I am 2 hours from ocean, mountain, snow and/or sun.

There is a lot to be thankful for in #CA, but when the opportunity presents itself, I’d love to go back to #mn

Q – #4   We will get to your Social Media work, but don’t you have some fitness/exercise interests too?

A:   It actually all kind of meshes for me – Social Media + health/fitness/food & an overall passion for life.

I aim to take what I love & help others – http://bit.ly/skhhealthydeal And shared all via Social Media.

I also have several #food intolerances. So I relate to so many out there struggling with it.

I was also a #nike @humanrace ambassador last year – http://bit.ly/aQrBg I had a fabulous team of running #piedpipers:)

Q – #5   What kinds of things have you done with SM to show your concern & talents for things that interest you?

A:   I would say the biggest (& most recent) thing I’ve done is the Campaign #HireHoff – http://bit.ly/hirehoff

I have also utilized my #blog via http://bit.ly/b824m9 to showcase others! Kind of like your #twitterview

Q – #6   #HireHoff has nothing to do with your worries over David Hasselhoff right?

A:   Funny you mention #thehoff because in the beginning of my presentation I have a #youtube video of his!

#thehoff says, “see it. believe it. live it.” My 3 keys to success are different. I have 3 nonetheless:) #soalike!

Q – #7   So who are some people that influence your SM skills? 5-10 ppl you follow that inspire, educate or entertain you?

A:   My social media inspiration/education @prsarahevans @skydiver @jakrose @digitalroyalty @mattsingley

My #sm entertainment @blakeshelton @joshgroth @missdestructo @nik_nik @chuybravo

But honestly, I learn from so many people on #twitter. There is a ton of intelligence out there.

ps. I am totally inspired, motivated & entertained by Ms. @nikisnotes & @laurasholtz – you should follow them!

Q – #8   FAVS time! – What is your favorite: restaurant, offline store, online store, summer activity & techie gadget?

A:   Favorite Restaurant. Love @axelsbonfire in #mn & @wentecc in #ca

My favorite offline store? @target I could spend all day in there. Never gets old. And it’s #mn-based!

My favorite online store? Soon-to-be #opensky @opensky Currently – I enjoy @amazon & @ebay.

Fav summer activity? BBQ’s! #running outside! Hiking. Taking our dogs on nightly walks. And of course visiting #MN!

Fav techie gadget? Honestly, just my #macbook Pro. I love it so much! But would love the new #iphone!

Q – #9   If you could invite any 1 person dead/alive to dinner, who would you ask and why?

A:   If I could invite 1 person dead/alive to dinner it would be @reba (McEntire). And here is why….

@JoelECarlson - I’m not quite sure what happened to our guest – @sarahkayhoffman, hopefully just a tech glitch. Everyone have a great day.

@sarahkayhoffman – Oh no! Have a great day all! Make sure to join us for the #minneapolis #tweetup Love to meet you!- http://bit.ly/chG6P0
