@JoelECarlson - Hello everybody, and welcome to Twitterview with our guest @KaceeMaree. Lets start off Monday on the right foot.
@KaceeMaree – Thanks for having me! Sorry for the late start!
Q – #1 To begin with – Where did you grow up, and what were some of the steps that led you to where you are today?
A: I grew up in Plymouth, MN. One thing that led me to where I am today is working as much as I can to get to where I want
Q – #2 So what are some of the places that you’ve been able to work at, and what were your roles?
A: I was an admin for a property mgmt co for 5 years while also a guest service rep and promotions specialist in college.
Having multiple jobs working 50+ hours per wk while attending college full-time helped me build a strong work ethic.
Q – #3 I see. What college did you attend, and what was your major?
A: I attended the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) & majored in advertising in the journalism school w/ minor in mgmt
Q – #4 Very nice. So what are you looking to do now in your working career, and what’s your ultimate goal?
A: Right now in my career I want to learn everything about every part of an ad agency & where I fit best in the ad world.
My ultimate goal is to find the career path that makes me happiest where I can make others happy doing what I love.
Q – #5 I see. Explain your “happiness movement” further. Do you mean satisfied customers? Creating passion for products?
A: I don’t know if I’d call it “happiness movement,” but I believe life and business is about making people happy. (cont)
Your client/customer will be happy if you provide something useful that helps them achieve their personal or biz goals.
Life is short, so why not spend each day trying to create happiness for yourself & others personally & professionally.
Q – #6 Okay, I can understand that. So how has Social Media helped you professionally & personally?
A: Social media has helped me make connections w/ people I wouldn’t have otherwise been able to. (cont)
Twitter has provided me a constant stream of new info to learn from w/o having 2 actively seek it (i.e. Google search)
Social media has also given me an advantage over older generations who may not be as familiar w/ its use for ad/mktg.
Q – #7 Who are 10-15 ppl that you follow on Twitter that provide you with either insight, inspiration or humor?
A: Don’t know if I can name 10-15 right off the top of my head! I’ll do one person for each of those types of info sources
Twitter source for insight: @AdAge. I follow ad industry news/info sources and that’s largely how I consume news.
Twitter source for humor: @kpladson. She is a brilliantly real & talented writer who is incredibly funny. Follow her!
Twitter source for inspiration: @ericamayer. Erica raised $11k for @charitywater using social media & she’s a doll!
Q – #8 Yes, @ericamayer is sweet! Now for the FAVS: Favorite – restaurant, offline store, summer activity & MN lake?
A: Favorite…restaurant is @greenmill001 (weekly customer)…offline store is Heartbreaker (uptown)…
Favorite…summer activity is camping/hiking/walking (being outside in general)…MN lake is any lake outside the city
Q – #9 Not even Calhoun or Harriet? To end – what thought or mantra would you like to share with everyone today?
A: “Happiness is something each of us can & should create for ourselves & others.” Straight from my blog: Create Happy.
@JoelECarlson – That’s a nice thought to end with! Thanks @KaceeMaree for your time and thoughts today. Have a good evening!
@KaceeMaree – Thanks right back at cha! #
